Homeworlds: 10 of 30 big cards are above their first price, Hemlock up 26%

Seventeen of the 30 cards got cheaper and the median change is −1.3%, but a real group went the other way. Nine of the ten most expensive cards rarely sell, so their prices are rough.

Homeworlds, the new Star Wars: Unlimited set, came out on October 9. Launch week, the first 14 days, ended on October 23. This look runs from each card's first market price to October 26, 17 days in.

We took every card worth $20 or more on October 26 that had a first price. Of the 30 cards, 10 are up, 17 are down and 3 are flat. The median card is down 1.3%, and 11 of the 30 moved 20% or more in one direction or the other.

Ten cards are up, two of them by 10% or more on steady trading

Doctor Hemlock - Emotion Has No Place Here (Showcase) went from $223.06 to $281.29, up 26%. It is one of the biggest gains among cards that trade often. The cheapest listing is $339.99, well above the market price, so sellers are asking for more than buyers have been paying.

Nightbrother - Maul's Gauntlet (Hyperspace) posted the biggest gain in that group: $25.41 to $40.95, up 61%. The regular Nightbrother - Maul's Gauntlet barely moved, from $26.80 to $27.30.

The sharpest drop among steady sellers is 31%

General Grievous - Scourge of Dathomir (Prestige Foil) fell from a first price of $51.19 on October 12 to $35.10. That is 31%, the biggest drop among cards that trade often. The cheapest listing is $30.94, below the market price.

Nine of the top ten rarely sell

Nine of the ten most expensive cards trade rarely, so the numbers at the top are rough. A card that sells rarely can jump on one sale, or sit still because nothing sold.

Maul - Old Master (Showcase) is the most expensive card in the set at $365.38, up 4.7% from $348.99. Its price changed only 4 times in 30 days.

The two biggest moves of all cards sit in the same low-volume territory. The Warrior - Deft Duelist (Showcase) is the biggest gain, from $50.00 to $101.67, up 103%. Giant Gorax (Prestige Foil) is the biggest drop, from $41.46 to $23.05, down 44%. Each changed price only 3 times in 30 days.
