The short version
When you follow a “Buy on TCGplayer” link and buy something, we may receive a small commission from the marketplace. You pay the same price either way. That is the whole business model — no paid listings, no sponsored cards, no “featured” slots for sale.
As of today this site earns nothing. The affiliate programme has not been approved yet, so every outgoing link is a plain link with no tracking code on it. When that changes, a purchase made through one of them may earn us a small commission — and you will still pay the same price.
We are writing this down now, before there is any money involved, so that the rules below are a commitment and not an excuse made up afterwards.
What the commission does not touch
This matters more than the disclosure itself, so it is spelled out:
- Prices. Every number comes from the source data. Nothing is marked up, rounded in our favour or adjusted.
- Rankings. Lists are sorted by price, by movement or by date — never by what pays. No card is placed higher because it earns more.
- What gets tracked. We add games and sets because they exist, not because they have an affiliate programme.
- Our calls. The track record page scores our own predictions against the index afterwards, whether they were right or wrong.
How to spot the links
Outgoing marketplace links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow" in the page source, as
search engines require. On screen they are the “Buy on …” buttons and the price rows that lead off-site.
Internal links — the ones that keep you on tcgrate — earn us nothing.
Why say it at all
Because the US Federal Trade Commission requires it, and because a price site that hides how it is paid has no business asking you to trust its prices.
What we do not do
- No display advertising.
- No paid placement of cards, sets or games.
- No selling of visitor data.
- No newsletter you did not ask for.
