What this site is
tcgrate collects publicly available market prices for trading card games, keeps their history and shows them in one place. We do not sell cards, do not broker deals and hold no inventory. Every “buy” link takes you to a third-party marketplace, and what happens there is between you and them.
Where the prices come from
Prices originate from the TCGplayer catalog, published daily through tcgcsv.com, plus Cardmarket trend prices where we compare venues. We reproduce them, chain them into indices and keep history — we do not set them and cannot change them. Full detail is on the methodology page.
What the numbers mean, and what they do not
- Every price is for a near-mint, ungraded copy unless the page says otherwise. A played copy is worth less; a graded one is a different market entirely.
- “Market price” is what copies recently sold for, not what you will get today. “Lowest listing” is one seller’s asking price, which may be a damaged or foreign copy.
- Data lags by up to a day. A card can move sharply between our update and your reading.
- None of it is a valuation, an appraisal, investment advice or a guarantee that any trade is available at the shown price.
If money depends on the number, check it on the marketplace before you act.
Accuracy
We try hard to be right and we publish our method so you can judge it. Still, the data comes from a third party, our own code can have bugs, and cards get mislabelled at the source. The site is provided as is, without warranty. We are not liable for losses from decisions made on these numbers.
Using our data
Read the site, quote it, link to it — that is what it is for. What we ask:
- Do not scrape the whole catalog. If you need bulk data, write to [email protected] — it is cheaper for both of us.
- Do not republish our indices, charts or rankings as your own. Credit and a link are enough.
- Automated requests at a rate that hurts the site may be blocked without notice.
Accounts
An account is free and optional. Do not use it to abuse the alert system as a mailer. We may close an account that does, and we may close the account service entirely if it stops making sense — with notice and a way to export what you stored.
Trademarks and card images
Card names, set names and card images belong to their publishers — Pokémon, Wizards of the Coast, Konami, Bandai and others. We use them to identify products, which is what identification is for. tcgrate is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them, nor by TCGplayer or Cardmarket. A rights holder who wants something removed should write to [email protected].
