Beyond the Brave's first two weeks: the Starlight Great Gallant Bandit fell from $650 to $406
Black Skull Dragon lost 64% from its first price. Dark Time Wizard went the other way and gained 51%.
Beyond the Brave, the new Yu-Gi-Oh! core set, came out on October 9. In our set reports we usually leave launch week out, because early prices are set before boxes are opened at scale. This report is about launch week itself: how far the first prices were from where the cards trade now.
Of the 27 cards worth $20 or more on October 25, 18 are below their first market price after release and 9 are above. The median card is down 24.3%. All prices are for 1st Edition copies.
The top card lost $244
The Great Gallant Bandit (Starlight Rare) (Extended Art) is the most expensive card in the set. Its first market price was $649.99 on release day. It was $430.75 when launch week ended on October 23, and $406.36 on October 25. The cheapest listing fell from $699.97 the day before release to $347.90.
The steepest drops
Black Skull Dragon, the Archfiend of Unity (Starlight Rare) fell the most, from $114.73 to $41.93, a 64% drop. Theorealized Medius (Starlight Rare) lost 44%, from $83.80 to $46.56. Three more Starlight Rares lost about half: Destiny HERO - Destro-Dogma went from $48.14 to $23.99, Audhumla, Progenitor of the Frozen Expanse from $76.86 to $38.63, and Verre, the Maid of Endymion from $57.71 to $29.75.
The cards that went up
Dark Time Wizard (Starlight Rare) gained the most, from $34.95 to $52.60, up 51%. Warchief of Atlantis (Starlight Rare) rose 42%, from $22.56 to $32.08, and Dark City at Midnight (Starlight Rare) 22%, from $53.44 to $65.02. All three opened below $55, while every card that opened above $110 is now lower.

Why the first price is usually the highest
On release day, only a few copies are on sale, and the first buyers pay for being first. Then boxes get opened and supply catches up. We saw the same with presale prices, which are even further from the real market. Every card from the set is on the Beyond the Brave page.
