One Piece's World's Strongest Warriors one month in: 30 of 31 big cards fell
The manga rares barely moved. The SP cards lost 15% to 42%, and the Super Leader Luffy shed $443.
The World's Strongest Warriors came out on August 28. We leave its first two weeks out, because launch prices are set before real supply arrives. From September 11 to October 25, 30 of the 31 cards worth $20 or more got cheaper, and the median card lost 22.5%.
The Super Leader Luffy lost $443
Monkey.D.Luffy (079) Super Leader Alternate Art is the most expensive card of the set that moved. It sold for $2,500 on release day, was $1,826.97 at the end of launch week and $1,383.43 on October 25, down 24%.
Manga rares held, SP cards did not
The pattern inside the set is clear. The manga rares barely moved:
- Shanks (022) (Manga): $1,502.19 to $1,486.69, down 1.0%
- Charlotte Linlin (112) (Manga): $824.19 to $787.29, down 4.5%
- Edward.Newgate (005) (Manga): $1,182.37 to $1,076.92, down 8.9%
- Kaido (062) (Manga): $1,116.34 to $1,012.55, down 9.3%
The SP reprints of older cards fell much harder, from 15% for Yamato to 42% for Kouzuki Oden, which went from $204.09 to $118.55.
Kaido Super Alternate Art: −29%
Kaido (062) (Super Alternate Art) went from $234.36 on September 11 to $166.51 on October 25. That is its lowest price since launch week, so this one has not found a floor yet.
