Union Arena Re:ZERO slipped just 2.1% after launch week, against 11.5% for new sets

11 of 16 cards worth $20 or more got cheaper, yet only one moved by 20% or more. Ten of the most expensive cards rarely sell, so their prices are rough.

UE24BT: Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, cards worth $20+, since launch week 11 of 16down median −2.1%

UE24BT: Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- came out on September 18. We leave out the first 14 days, which ended October 2, because launch prices are set before boxes are opened at scale. From October 2 to October 30, 28 days, the median card worth $20 or more lost 2.1%.

That is a mild result. In our study of 76 sets from 18 games, the typical card worth $20 or more lost 11.5% in the month after launch week.

11 of 16 cards got cheaper, but not by much

Of the 16 cards in the list, 11 are down and 5 are up, so 69% got cheaper. In the 76-set study that share was 78%. Five cards finished within 5% of their October 2 price, and only one moved 20% or more.

The cards that sell often stayed close to launch week

Six cards trade often, and none of them moved more than 10.1%. Let's Start Here, From Square One. No... From Zero! (U*) made the biggest gain of all cards, rising from $59.91 to $65.94, or 10.1%. Rem (052) (SR*) had the largest drop among cards that trade often, only 2.6%, from $31.59 to $30.77.

Action Point Card (AP05) sits in between. It went from $39.35 to $41.51, up 5.5%. Its first price after release, on September 21, was $0.75.

The priciest cards rarely sell

The most expensive card is Rem (019) (SR**), up 5.5% from $400.00 to $421.92. Its price changed only 3 times in 30 days, so the number is rough. The same caution applies to the rest of the top ten: none of them trades often.

The biggest drop of all cards sits in that group. Emilia (027) (Box Topper Gold Foil) lost 30.3%, or $68.01, falling from $224.50 to $156.49. Beatrice (078) (SR**) lost 13.6%, from $351.21 to $303.58.

A quieter month than the typical new set
